We sat down with Principal Consultant, Dan Kastelik, to learn why he chose Nimble to grow his consulting career.

What attracted you to Nimble?
I’ve been here since the very beginning. Back in 2020, I was working as a contractor through Nimble when the Covid pandemic hit and the organisation I was working for let go of all the contractors. I stayed close with Chris and Dan Roberts (Nimble’s founders), having helped them grow the account I was working on. They let me know about the investment they had secured and sold me on the growth journey Nimble was about to go through. It’s not often you get the opportunity to be part of that level of scaling and growth while also having a genuine say in the direction of the business, so I stayed – and I’ve been here ever since.
What’s an average day at Nimble for you?
Every day is different, so it’s not possible to describe an average day. As a Principal Delivery Consultant, I’m involved in a lot – whether that’s internal Nimble work or working with clients. I’m involved in developing internal delivery capability, contributing to bids and tenders for both new and existing clients, and managing relationships with stakeholders from line management level through to C-suite executives at enterprise-scale organisations, delivering complex, multidisciplinary programmes worth millions.
What’s your favourite thing about working for Nimble?
I feel it’s a bit cliché to say this, but it’s a combination of the people and clients we work with. We’re lucky to have built a genuine people-first culture here at Nimble, which really allows us to support each other as best as we can. This culture lends itself to the client work that we do, which isn’t a surprise when you look at the high percentage of repeat business we get.
In addition to this, I really like the level of autonomy that we’re allowed. We hire strong individuals in their field and give them the space to do their job. This really enables us to shine in our specialisms whilst giving us the opportunity to fail fast and learn!
What’s your favourite benefit that we offer?
The generous L&D allowance ensures that we can look to stay on top of the latest training and allows us to progress our careers in the path we choose.
How has Nimble helped you grow in your career?
Having worked on a number of varied engagements – from Scrum Master to Agile Coach and Programme Manager – has really given me a strong set of cross-functional skills that can be applied to any role. The profile of some of the engagements has also really challenged me to show what I’m capable of. A recent programme, where I oversaw delivery across 11 projects involving more than 300 people from three different organisations, with a £12m budget and reporting directly into the international C-suite, is a strong testament to this.
What advice would you give recent hires?
Be your authentic self. You’ve been brought in because you are excellent in your craft, so believe in yourself and your ability. As we continue to grow, if you spot a gap or an opportunity to add value, be confident in stepping up to fill it
What brings you joy outside work?
I’m really family oriented and love spending time with my wife, kids (I have a 9 year old son and a 7 year old daughter) and dog – whether that’s family holidays, trips to the beach, or just all of us going out on our bikes for the day.
I also love my sport. I’ve represented my county in swimming, played in national hockey finals, and spent plenty of days in the sun playing cricket. More recently, I’ve been practising and coaching judo, where I recently earned my black belt. I would normally include watching football as well, but being a Spurs fan hasn’t brought much joy this season!
Additionally, I am the lead volunteer for our village’s Cub pack. So whether running backwards, cooking campfire doughnuts over flames, or organising hikes and camps, you’ll find me spending as much time outdoors as possible.
