Tell us about your journey to Nimble
My career started with a telephony operations role with Barclays Bank dealing with complex customer queries. After implementing multiple process improvement changes within my operational role I transitioned into my Business Analyst role.
As a Business Analyst within the bank, I was responsible for delivering End to End programmes across multiple platforms from inception to delivery. Taking responsibility for the project analysis on areas such as user story requirements, process flows, and stakeholder management.
After nearly eight years at the bank I wanted to progress into consulting, which is why I’m here at Nimble!
Why did you make the move to Nimble?
Nimble is all about caring for the people who work here and doing what’s best for them and their career, which in turn delivers the best outcomes for our clients.
This approach was clear to see with my very first interaction with the recruitment team all the way up to senior leadership.
The company culture is great and it’s an exciting time as we are growing! I’m very proud to represent Nimble.
What are you aiming to achieve at Nimble?
My aim at Nimble is to grow and develop into a more specialised BA role. I already have a wide range of BA skills but I want to enhance certain specialisms to provide more value to our clients.
Nimble recognises that personal learning and development plays a key role in delivering customer outcomes and enhancing our skillset.
There are multiple initiatives and ways to collaborate across the business to help achieve this along with being given the time to develop.
What do you love about working in Tech?
I like to improve things and working as a BA in tech lets me experience that daily.
To deliver an improvement while working as a team really gives me a great sense of achievement and sense of pride through my own contribution.
What achievement are you most proud of?
I’ve raised over £20,000 for local charities over the last few years, the total itself is a really proud achievement of mine and I’ve seen first hand how the money is used to help others.
Organising and running fundraising events was also a proud part of raising the money, from football matches, bake sales, 80’s/90’s night, sponsored hikes and much more! Working together as a team to reach a common goal always feels good.
What’s your biggest strength?
Talking and engaging with people in a positive way is certainly a strength of mine, I believe this opens up opportunities with others to gain a more in depth understanding with someone as an individual.
Affective questioning and listening is also a big strength, this stands me in good stead both professionally and personally!
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I certainly like to keep active! I’m either working out at the gym, hiking, running or attending a spin class.
I also like to travel, I’ve been to India, Peru and Thailand recently and plan to explore more places later this year.
I’m also really into my football, I play seven aside with my friends a few times a week and the majority of my Saturday afternoons are spent supporting Crewe Alexandra, anyone else who follows a lower league club will understand both the joy and heartache felt every week!
What was your dream job when you were at School?
Working in the Royal Air Force, some of my family members served in the forces. They always told me of their travels and some of the amazing locations across the world. I wanted to experience that, not sure exactly what role but an aircraft pilot would be fun!
What’s your favourite piece of technology?
My Fitness watch, it records and documents all my workouts and gives me stats on my intensity, duration and pace which I can assess and determine how to improve.
It’s a great motivator!
